Why should I choose Crawfordsville Outdoor?
There are many reasons. First and foremost, our reputation is based on your satisfaction. We are a very reputable company with the experience and resources to get the job done right and on time. We take pride in customer satisfaction and it shows in the appearance of our staff, equipment, and details.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes we are. We carry $1,000,000 in general liability insurance and also carry policies on our technicians, equipment and trucks. This is very important. As a homeowner or commercial client, you assume all risk when hiring an uninsured contractor. Ask all contractors to provide proof of insurance coverage prior to allowing them work on your property.
LAWN CARE
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, we do not require contracts for residential lawn maintenance.
We have company coming in town. Can I change my service day this week?
Absolutely! Simply call us with as much notice as possible and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate your needs.
How often should I water my lawn?
Your lawn needs 1 inch of water per week, whether it comes from rain or irrigation. While irrigation is not as beneficial to your lawn as rain is, it will keep the lawn nourished until the next significant rainfall.
When is the best time to water?
Early morning is best between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. If this is not possible, after 4 p.m. is acceptable. Just don’t water overnight. Overnight watering is the main cause of the emergence of undesired weeds.
Will you be here the same day every week?
Yes, however, there are instances from time to time where this is not possible (such as inclement weather on your scheduled day).
What if the gate to my back yard is locked?
We recommend using a combination lock so that our technicians can enter the back yard on your scheduled day.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes, we do! If you refer a customer who signs up for regular service with us, you will receive one month during that calendar year for free. Call for more details.
SERVICES
Why should I coat my garage floor?
Did you know more people see the inside of your garage than any other room in your home? Here in the Midwest the elements are very hard on concrete. Snow and road salt can eat away at the concrete exposing the aggregate which makes the floor unsightly. The biggest cosmetic benefit is that nearly all spills can be cleaned up quickly and easily. Oil leaks from cars can simply be wiped up with a paper towel instead of soaking into the concrete, which stain the surface and eat away the top layers of concrete.
What is that black stuff on my roof and how do I get rid of it?
It’s mainly algae. Algae is a living, growing organism and as such will continue to grow. Left untreated, in time it will cover your entire roof. A roof covered in algae absorbs heat and results in an extremely overheated attic in the summer, raising your cooling costs. Since algae feeds off the organic material in your shingles, if it is left untreated, your roof will require costly, premature replacement. Roof cleaning can be done once and then easily maintained once yearly for a fraction of the cost.
Does the exterior brick on my home really need to be cleaned?
One of the biggest misconceptions among homeowners is the belief that brick is maintenance free. Nothing could be further from the truth. Brick attracts carbons and algae which will stain your brick, not to mention the simple acidity in rain water will as well.
Does my concrete driveway need to be sealed?
Yes! Concrete sealers help prevent damage from freeze/thaw cycles and the intrusion of deicing salts. They keep water from getting into the surface pores. Sealers also aid in preventing the staining of concrete from the simple realities of daily life, such as driving on the concrete, chemical spills, etc.
When will you be out to get rid of all this snow?
Snow removal is a scheduling challenge, because of the time the snowfall arrives and the amount we receive. We begin snow removal as soon as it begins, assuming it is before 5 p.m. If the snowfall is overnight, we begin the following morning at 7 a.m. for residential properties, due to noise ordinances and simple common courtesy. Commercial properties will be serviced overnight. If you are on a regular snow removal agreement, your property will take priority over all other calls received for snow removal service. If a significant snowfall is expected overnight, please call us that evening and we will schedule your service within a brief time window the following morning.
I’ve never sealed my deck. Can you help?
95% of the time, yes! Depending on the age of your wood deck, it can normally be stripped, cleaned, and re-sealed (and stained if you wish). Once it is back to it’s intended appearance, we can maintain the deck’s appearance once (sometimes twice) per year at a relatively low cost. Keeping your wood deck sealed is the most important thing you can do to enjoy the appearance of your deck as it was originally intended.
What examples fall under “debris removal?”
Debris removal is one of the services we offer that is also one of our most valuable. Those big limbs on your lawn that came down in that storm last night? We can take care of it. If you’re a do-it-yourselfer and cut a tree down but don’t have a truck to take it to the dump – we take care of that too. Most tasks that require a lot of debris/trash to be removed we can do for you.
